"Cowboy Golf"
Bronze 20" x 21" x 17" Edition:
50
In
the early 1920's, Dick "Wick" Hall reported
in the Salome Sun that the
Greasewood Golf Lynx of Salome, Arizona was the longest
course in the
world at 247 mile with a par of 16,394. In addition to
a set of clubs,
the golfer required a reliable horse, a compass, map,
canteen, and a
good pair of binoculars. "Wick" boasted that
it took snowbirds an entire
season just to play one round. In a tribute to their dedication
to the sport,
cowboys are still playing Cowboy Golf today in Arizona
and throughout
the desert Southwest.
